A market leader in air fresheners globally, a big portfolio of product categories and a desire to infuse new energy into its brands.
Answer was a multi-disciplinary Workshop - one of my favorite tools to get quality inputs from a big audience. We invited people from R&D, Marketing, Finance, Procurement and Communication. In a full day engagement, we shared inspiration, frameworks and ways to think. We formed multi-disciplinary groups who were each to come up with 1 new product idea. And not just that! They had to develop an ad around it. We had cartoonists and designers in the room to give more color to their thought process.
Each team came up with thought provoking inputs and were given feedback by the remaining teams. The exercise helped generate a lot of good product ideas for the innovation pipeline. What did we do next?! Developed those ideas into concepts to evaluate more deeply and prioritize further.
This process ensured that the client cast their net wide when generating ideas and were not limited by their personal biases. Kudos to them for being brave, and kudos to us, the research team, to execute a wonderful workshop!
